■Pros
- Feels like a 21st-century TB-303, haha
- Well thought out and user-friendly
■Cons
- There might not be any
I haven’t had the chance to play with a real TB-303, and I’ve already sold my TB-3, so I can’t confirm…
Isn’t it quite close?
It felt more like TB-3 than D-16’s Phoscyon 2.
Now, in the simplified display, it’s very TB-303-like!
There are many additional features in Advanced Mode at the bottom.
The sequencer is straightforward, I think.
I’ve found the usage quite smooth.
What makes Acid V feel like a new era is the inclusion of modulation.
In reality, it’s not entirely a new era, but when I heard the presets, I couldn’t help but think, “It’s the 303 of the new era!” Haha
You can set automation by dragging and dropping the tab section towards the knob.
The effects also have a modern synth-like GUI that’s easy to approach.
It gives off a really good impression.
Everyone who loves TB-303 seems to be full of playful spirit!
D16’s Phoscyon 2 also had hidden knobs.
Overall, it’s easy to understand, with the traditional sound of the 303 and the incorporation of modulation for a new sound.
Isn’t it a bass synth that suits the times?
