Tone Empire『TF-72a』Using Neural Network technology to digitally recreate the iconic analog sound.

This is a clone of the Telefunken V72 Mic Pre, right?

If you want to know more details about the actual device, please do your own research.

It’s a sophisticated saturation plugin.

■Pros

  • Subtle distortion.

■Cons

  • High CPU load

It has a high CPU load.

It is about 700% heavier than Ozone and 125% heavier than NEOLD V76U73.

For me, it’s too heavy as a plugin to use in the preamp…

Unless it has something truly unique, I honestly think it’s uninstall-worthy at this point.

I will include the EQ curve and distortion tendencies as data.

They vary greatly depending on the Boost mode.

Boost 1: EQ Curve
Boost 1: Distortion
Boost 2: EQ Curve
Boost 2: Distortion
Boost 3: EQ Curve
Boost 3: Distortion
Boost 4: EQ Curve
Boost 4: Distortion
Boost 5: EQ Curve
Boost 5: Distortion

Changing the parameters will affect the results shown in the above figures, for your reference.

There seems to be quite a bit of foldback noise.

I don’t think there is oversampling… I guess not, lol.

The high-pass is processed before entering Input/Drive, and the low-pass is processed after Output.

The high-pass is set from 20Hz to 2,000Hz, and the low-pass is set from 2,000Hz to 20,000Hz.

Input/Drive controls the input and distortion after the high-pass, and Output controls the output before the low-pass.

On the right side, you can adjust the input, output, and Dry volume before and after the high-pass and low-pass.

These are all the parameters, so it’s quite simple.

The distortion is not as strong as shown in the video, it’s more like a subtle coloring effect.

It doesn’t seem as distorted as the results from PluginDoctor.

Personally, I’m not impressed with the initial load.

With this level of coloring, it’s a bit difficult to use due to the heaviness of the load.

That’s what I thought.
