Minimal Audio『Fuse Compressor』An affordable and powerful multi-band compressor plugin with strong impact.

6-band multi-band compressor.

About a month ago, I reviewed a similar plugin called “Devious Machines ‘Multiband X6’.”

Seems to be a trend, doesn’t it?

I felt that “Fuse Compressor” gives a strong compression to the sound.

You can purchase it here.

■Pros

  • Includes upward compression (decomp)
  • Analyzer response is good

■Cons

  • None that I can think of for now…

It compresses the loud sounds (downward) and lifts up the quiet sounds (upward).

I haven’t played around with many multi-band compressors, but are there more types without upward compression?

Speaking of plugins that have upward compression, I can think of Flux::’s “Alchemist”, but “Fuse Compressor” is easier to use.

I think “Fuse Compressor” is designed to easily achieve that “bang” sound in your mix.

The main section is the analyzer, and when you hover your mouse over it, you’ll see “Ratio” and “Thresholds” in the top right corner. You can experiment with those (also, you can choose to show Tips).

It’s intuitive and easy to understand.

Also, this might be just me, but I really like the movement of the analyzer, haha.

It’s clear and not too distracting, and it helps me find the right compression point for my mix easily.

However, since there are no frequency labels on the analyzer, it can’t be used solely as an analyzer.

As for the yellow line that overlaps with the white gain line, I couldn’t find any information in the manual, so I won’t comment on that.

The bottom section contains global settings.

It might be a little disappointing that you can’t set Attack Time or Knee on a per-band basis, but they might have intentionally left it out.

The button on the right side of “Input” enables the Input Gain only for the send signal to the effect.

When you turn this switch on and automate the Input Gain, you can change only the effect sound without affecting the original signal.

It also comes with ‘s signature feature, a clipper.

With easy-to-use distortion and multi-band processing capabilities, it seems like a high-performance compressor.

Considering the regular price is only $49, it’s quite an affordable option, I believe.
