W.A Production『InstaComposer2』An composition support plugin that allows for easier and more diverse phrase creation.

After about a year and nine months, the W.A Production composition support plugin has been majorly updated!

Purchase it here.

Basic elements have been carried over, so please also refer to the previous review.

■Pros

  • Provides a variety of melody and riff patterns
  • Now capable of creating rhythm tracks
  • Creates all tracks at once (like an orchestra composer!)

■Cons

  • The user interface is still a bit confusing (couldn’t find the menu, lol)
  • If you just insert it without any setup, it won’t work, so beginners should prepare by researching the setup for their respective

First, there is a MIDI routing method for each DAW, so I’ll provide a link to the manufacturer’s site. Here

It’s an English explanation, but you can understand just by watching how it works, so I think it’s alright even if you don’t understand English.

Now, let’s pick out the improvements that I found to be exciting since the previous version.

In the previous version, there wasn’t a drum track…

In the previous review video, the drums were created separately.

The term “Rhythm” refers to the backing part or, in any case, the generated notes are not compatible with drum sounds.

However, this has been addressed in the latest version, so with InstaComposer2 alone, the song generation process is now complete!

This is the biggest improvement I feel.

Additionally, being able to stock eight scenes is also a significant advancement.

You can create sections such as Intro, Verse, Buildup, Chorus, Breakdown, Inter, Bridge, and Outro. (I used mixed genre terminology, just for fun.)

Of course, there will be updates to the core AI and other parts, but I’ll skip mentioning them since they aren’t visible.

I don’t think there’s any significant difference in the generated phrases. The key is whether you feel they are usable or not, which is subjective.

When compared to other plugins, it seems to excel in generating melodic phrases that are easy to understand.

In about a minute, you can get an idea of the type of composition that can be created by watching the video.

With some fine-tuning from here, you can finish a composition in a short time with minimal effort.

It’s a tool that can benefit any music creator, such as speeding up video background music creation, expanding the variations of your own compositions, supporting composition learning, and complementing beginner skills.

Even with upgrades, if there’s a sale, it can become quite affordable (around $10), so I think it’s worth buying.

Even for new purchases, if there’s a sale, it’s relatively easy to get started.

It’s important not to have excessive expectations for composition support tools, but there are definitely moments where we appreciate their presence.

Among them, compared to other products, InstaComposer2 allows you to edit MIDI phrases in the piano roll, which I think makes it more familiar to Japanese users.
